Where did she come from? She's only a woman, her tears should've meant nothing to me...and yet...there I was...
My body wanted to move, to run to her side simply to hear of her reason. Her reason to cry in such a way. My legs trembled as I resisted the urge.
She wiped furiously at her tears and mumbled words of
hate that my ears caught:
"Why does it have to be me? Why can't THEY fall apart-- why can't THEY cry? For once?"
